Kurasawa is our owner, Matt’s favorite for daily drinking. We classify Kurasawa cultivar as a Daily Matcha because it has a good flavor at an affordable price. Kurasawa can be drunk straight warm or cold for an afternoon pick-me-up or as a morning energizer. But when Matt has a chocolate craving, he pours a whisked Kurasawa matcha over his favorite chocolate milk.
The Kurasawa tea cultivar was first developed back in the 60s from a special selection of Yabukita. It was developed in a famous tea region, Shizuoka of central Japan. Kurasawa, not to be confused with the famed Japanese film director, Akira Kurosawa! This considerably rare tea often gets processed to become an exceptional sencha or an astoundingly rare Japanese black tea, but most coveted of all would be Kurasawa matcha. This tea's rarity has made it a sought-after cultivar for sure! Feel free to whisk a bowl of Kurasawa and throw on a samurai flick to truly get the full experience of this illustrious matcha powder!

Measure 1/2 tsp of matcha into a bowl. The powder can be sifted to reduce clumps. Alternatively, 3/4 tsp can be used for a more robust flavor.
Add about 2-3 oz of 160-170F water to the matcha. This temperature is hot to the touch, but much lower than boiling. Whisk until a thick foam develops.
Add 5-6 oz of hot water to the mixture. For a cold version, pour whisked matcha over ice. Add more water, milk, or sweetener if the drink is too bitter.
Inhale the fragrance and savor each sip!
